“ One of the oldest restaurants in SF. Really love the atmosphere! The server was nice and patient and friendly. I like they put blue ice under oyster to make it look fresh. The oyster tastes fresh. Other food all tasted very fresh! The clam soup was also nice and savory! Definitely recommend to come at least once ”
“ I was curious to try what is apparently the oldest restaurant in San Francisco based on a great seafood and pasta menu with some surprisingly decent prices. Its not in the most glamorous area, off the Alemany exit, but pay no mind to the industrial buildings on Bayshoreyoure in for a treat if in the mood for genuine, classic oldschool vibes, a la Tadich or even Original Joes. The Old Clam House feels frozen in time, which is a great sign of Dont Fix If It Aint Broke. We saddled up to the bar where we met Flavia who was happy to provide our dinner service. By the way, having a UFC fight on the screens was an extra treat with dinner Such an unpretentious setting. The bowl of clams we ordered were almost perfectwe were left wanting more broth! However, the entree was the highlight of our show pappardelle with wild boar. I know its a seafood place, but any time a restaurant can feature this special, I am definitely going to try it. The Old Clam House did not disappoint with this pastaits made inhouse. Honestly, it could have been taken off the boil a touch earlier to be a bit more al dente. But I was floored by the taste of the generous ragu with wild boar deeply flavorful and very tender meat. Paired with their New Zealand Sauv Blanc, it was a delightful and satisfying dinner. We look forward to returning soon for another great experience and to enjoy the clam shooters everyone seems to be raving about. ”
“ We had a party of 8 and they were able to accommodate us with a reservation. This place came highly recommended from a couple of friends and definitely did not disappoint. We had a dozen oysters that were fresh and delicious. The fresh baked bread was satisfying. I enjoyed the seafood black linguine but I must say that my wifes Fishermans risotto some the show. It was packed with shellfish and the lobster was grilled to perfection. Do many menu items Is want to come back to try. Really a gem of a restaurant! ”
“ Just LOVE this unique historic and charming restaurant with eclectic vintage decor. They welcomed us with a glass of warm clam juice and bread. Everything was delicious. The menu offers a huge variety. Highly recommend checking out this gem and would love to go back!! ”
“ Everything was delicious! We had the fritto calamari and friends and it was great with the lemon juice and the Marinera sauce had little bit of spice to it the bread was moist and warm on the inside and crispy on the outside, I almost asked for more bread but I was getting full so I had stop. As main entries we had the shrimp sizzling iron skillet and the linguine of the sea but I asked to have Alfredo sauce instead and I must say, I was not disappointed, it had lots of seafood and it tasted pretty fresh, They did not skimp on the seafood either. Totally recommend those dishes. ”
“ I am so happy that this place exists.. Its one of the best clam chowder bread bowls Ive ever had. Thanks to the bestie who introduced me to this place! Calamari was excellent. I had an espresso martini which was just fine. The sourdough bread bowl is amazing, the clam chowder is amazing, I can go on and on about how good this was. Also, the building has a ton of historical significance, if its slow you might just get a little tour of whats haunted Just be aware, parking is terrible, I went on a Tuesday afternoon so it may be that its worse since its in an industrial area, there might be more parking when the business are closed. ”
“ We just stumbled across this place. And so glad we did. The service was excellent. But the clam chowder was even better. The perch wcapers and lemon butter sauce was perfect. And the portions of everything were huge. Its worth a trip to the south side of SF to enjoy this great restaurant. ”
“ The outside looks kinda old but the inside is really rustic and beautiful. It doesnt have the old restaurant smell at all on the inside which came as a pleasant positive. Food was great clam chowder truly exquisite, black linguine seafood creamy sauce, lots of clams and scallops. The clams special also a BIG portion was good. If the sauce was a bit creamier it would have been greater. Overall it was a good meal I will come again as we are so close by. Only set back is there is not so much parking. ”
